Sample Sending

1. BLOOD & BONE MARROW

a- Bone marrow sample should be transferred as soon as possible.

b- For DNA analysis, it should be transferred in tubes with EDTA in sterile surgical gloves at room temperature within 24-48 hours.

c- For Cytogenetic and Molecular Cytogenetic analyses; it should be transferred in heparinized tubes and transferred in sterile surgical gloves at room temperature within 24-48 hours. If there is no heparinized tube, 0.2 ml of heparin is drawn into a sterile syringe, the syringe is washed and blood is drawn into it without discarding this heparin. After the blood is drawn, the syringe is turned upside down and shaken several times, the needle is closed without twisting and the syringe is sent in a sterile glove.

AMNIOTIC FLUID

a- After the amniotic fluid is taken into two separate syringes, the cap should be closed without twisting the needle and it should be transferred to the laboratory within 24 hours after it is placed in a sterile glove and knotted at the mouth.

CVS, evacuation and skin biopsy materials

a- The material should be placed in transport medium and shipped in sterile surgical gloves within 12-15 hours. Transport medium can be obtained from our laboratory before the procedure.

b- If transport medium is not available; the material is transferred to the laboratory in a sterile container with sterile saline or directly in a sterile container.

c- After the evacuation materials are taken, they should be stored at +4 ̊C (in the cover shelf of the refrigerator) until they are sent to the laboratory.

a- Semen sample should be concentrated and then sent to the laboratory.

b- For safety reasons, the samples prepared as above can be sent in a box such as foam etc.

c- Materials such as ice etc. should never be used during transportation.

4. SPERM FISH

a- Semen sample should be concentrated and then sent to the laboratory.

b- For safety reasons, the samples prepared as above can be sent in a box such as foam etc.

c- Materials such as ice etc. should never be used during transportation.
