According to scientific researches; a number of genes which are associated with cardiovascular capacity and muscle strucure have been identified, therefore; it can more likely be determined the type of sports he/she is inclined to.

Today, as ACTN3 gene region is examined to determine muscle structure, at the same time genetic changes in ACE gene region is studied to understand and determine cardiovascular capacity.

Alterations at the point of 577 in ACTN3 gene bring about changes in (R577X) muscles structure and affect the sports performance. Due to R577X alteration, people show less alpha-actinin-3 production and accordingly one’s sports performance and the type of sports may be different.

Additionally, the positive effect of ACE gene on athletic performance has been proven. Since, the changes in ACE gene region are effective on cardiac capacity, they also influence the sports performance and the type of sports being inclined.
